Candélabre and Amphore
In 2011, Jean-Pierre Bruaire and Catherine Melot inaugurated their new Parisian gallery and invited several designers to reflect on the theme of the Candelabra. I imagined Ma chandelle est morte : A minimalist archetype of the traditional large chandelier, in an electric version (LED), where each branch is a wooden "candle" that emits a glow and illuminates from the inside into transparency... by surprise, by magic. The raw and massive appearance of wood, a nod to the ancestral torch, contrasts with the extreme finesse of the veining that appears in transparency when the candelabra is illuminated.
In 2013 for the new exhibition of the Granville Gallery On the theme of amphora, I present the Demoiselle-Jeanne, in reference to the "dame-jeanne". These opaque blown glass bottles are a tribute to yesterday's amphora.
Accessorized of a plug-gauge that allows to know its filling or a cork-cup, they are carafe of day or carafe at night.
