Levallois Aquatics Centre. 2010
Signage
The identification of the new Levallois Aquatics Centre designed with Studio Des Signes, consists of undulating words and turquoise and translucent arrows. The signs are on the walls in a space of 4 000 m2. The letterings are made of transparent plexiglass, painted in blue "pool" and in white "tiles", to recall the visual effects of magnifying glass sometimes created by water, as well as the intense blue of the basins. The handwritten alphabet gives the ensemble a slightly retro charm and evokes splashes and other water games by cheerfully interpelling swimmers.
This project won the Prize for Creativity at the 8th edition of the Icona D'Or 2011, the trophies of visual communication, organized by the french Syndicat National de l’Enseigne et de la Signalétique.
