Radoux. 2010

In all the cellars of the world, barrels and parts are alike. The challenge launched by la Tonnellerie Radoux - one of the French leaders of the high-end cooperage-to 2 young designers associated each with young creators of wines, was to express through the barrel the soul of a property. In an innovative approach, I worked on the dressing of the barrels of the Château de Chamirey in Mercurey.
It is always with words and a particular language that the wine is told. Put forward the words that speak of the wine to be is to highlight the winemaker who makes it and to valorize in the cellars of the Château de Chamirey the container, such special adornment of the content. Passion, elegance, harmony, purity, requirement, pleasure, family, Mercurey. These words are lettered on two metal cabochons, carved and printed, which become ornamental and precious pieces. These cabochons allow, by alternating them, to rhythm the alignment of the barrels, to enliven the cellar with these words, and to offer a new aesthetic and emotional dimension to the object itself.
