Mexican Boudoir
Les marbreries de la Seine
In April 2024, the table and armchair collection Mexican Boudoir was presented in Milan at Design Week, in the Labo space. This project follows the discovery of Mexican architecture and culture during a design residency in Mexico City in 2023. It was developed in France, based on the inspirations drawn from this trip.
The collection Mexican Boudoir brings together tables and armchairs, rugs and screens, designed to create a subtle balance between graphic patterns, materials and colors. Each element of the collection is the fruit of a dialogue between tradition and modernity, highlighting recycled materials and precise craftsmanship.
Mexican Boudoir coffee tables are made of marquetry, using fragments of unused stone blocks. They illustrate the skill of marble craftsmen in assembling materials with contrasting properties and hues. Travertine, used throughout the furniture, adds relief and contrast while preserving the harmony of the lines. The large coffee table, the centerpiece of the collection, incorporates different marbles such as Verde Alpi, Calacatta Carrara, Rosso Francia and Sodalite Bleue.
The ceremonial armchair, made from travertine slats, pays homage to Mexican architecture, offering a subtle vibration and sculptural texture.
